Each matching pair is a boy and a girl twin from cultures such as Peru, Japan, India, Africa, China, and many more.
Twins Memo can be played many ways. For younger children, start by mixing the cards with the pictures facing upwards. This will get the children familiar the different pairs and you can talk about the characteristics of the pair's culture and where they may come from. The background color shows if the two pairs go together.
A more challenging and involved way to play is for the children to find the matching pairs and than name the country they are from. Talk about the cultures characteristics, what animals are from the country, what the children may eat, what their homes may be like, etc.. Have a world map handy to find and/or mark the countries found.
The game does not come with a diagram of where the twins come from. But with the wit and knowledge of an adult, it's pretty easy to figure out the culture and/or country; leads to more investigations and fun research.
