Model: WORLDA1 Raising Butterflies has always been a special springtime activity for my Montessori class. We have throughly enjoyed ordering our caterpillars and watching them form chrysalis and patiently waiting for the butterflies to emerge. I give the children a choice; to watch the FULL cycle of a butterfly or let them go so they can lay more eggs and produce more butterflies. For years they all opt for letting them go; hands down.
These beautiful creatures will keep your children wanting to know more. They are an excellent lesson for life/death and the cycle of life. Makes an excellent gift for anyone and any classroom!
